Laptops are the number one choice in computing now because of how easy they are to use and the advanced features that can now be fitted into such a small piece of equipment. The prices have also come down allot on laptops and so they are now as cheap as other computers which are not as nice to use and there are many cheap deals online making a laptop an excellent Christmas gift that the whole family can enjoy.
When you buy a laptop there are a few things that you should look at before you make your decision. The processor speed and memory will dictate how quick the laptop is and so it is always best to buy a laptop with a fast processor speed and plenty of memory. Even cheap laptops usually have these though these days and so if you are only using the laptop for general tasks such as web surfing, email, homework or word processing then you do not need a super fast laptop and one of the cheaper laptops will do fine.
If you are wanting to play games on the laptop then you are going to need a more powerful laptop though as the games are very advanced these days and require allot of power to run properly. The graphics card is also very important for this and so if you plan to play games on your new laptop then ensure that it has a good graphics card.
Another very important feature is the size of the hard drive, the disc inside of the laptop that stores all of your files and installed programmes and games. And with today's download culture of downloading huge files such as MP3s and videos you are going to need allot of space and applications also require huge amounts of space too and so buying a laptop with a large hard drive is very wise.
Also look for a laptop that has the wireless technology as this enables you to use the Internet and transfer files between computers in your home, you can even use the Internet in bed or in the garden and sp it gives you much more freedom. Even the cheap laptops usually have the wireless feature and so this is not usually a problem although some do not so it is best to make sure.
